Dr. Benjamin Franz

Dr. Benjamin was born and raised in Edgar, Wisconsin.  From a young age, Dr. Benjamin had numerous health problems related to his balance, his ability to walk well, his ability to run, and numerous skin problems.  When Dr. Benjamin was eight or nine years old, his parents took him a number of different places and different doctors in an attempt to remedy his many problems.  This went on for some time with no resolution to speak of, until Dr. Benjamin’s parents took him to a NUCCA chiropractor.  In a matter of months Dr. Benjamin  had much relief and his parents saw many amazing changes for the better.  This NUCCA chiropractor even helped to alleviate Dr. Benjamin’s skin problems.  By the time Dr. Benjamin was ten he knew that this path in life was to be a doctor of chiropractic, so that he could help others the way his doctor helped him. 

Dr. Benjamin spent time at the University of Wisconsin Marathon County before moving to Iowa to complete his education at Palmer College of Chiropractic.  He completed the remainder of his undergraduate studies in order to receive a Bachelor in Science at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Iowa.  Dr. Benjamin continued his education at Palmer college of Chiropractic to complete the Doctor of Chiropractic program.

Dr. Monika Franz

Since an early age, Dr. Monika knew she wanted to go into the healthcare field, and become a doctor. She attended St. Cloud State University and graduated with a Bachelor in Science with an emphasis in Biomedical Science and a minor in Psychology. During her college years she worked as a Registered Nursing Assistant in a nursing home in which she hurt her back.  Due to her back pain, she tried many  different approaches before finally finding chiropractic to be the most effective at eliminating her pain. Due to great positive results, Dr. Monika knew that she wanted to become a Chiropractor.

Dr. Monika attended Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. In February of 2007, Dr. Monika had a once-in-a-life-time opportunity to bring chiropractic care into the lives of hundreds of people on the small island of Bequia as a part of the Palmer Clinic Abroad program. During her last trimester at Palmer, Dr. Monika did an internship under a Level 2 NUCCA certified doctor. After her graduation, Dr. Monika was hired in the practice. After working there and gaining experience, Dr. Monika knew that she and her husband were ready to start their practice.

 

What brought these doctors to South Carolina?
Dr. Monika graduated from St. Joseph’s High School. Even though she did not live in the Greenville area for that long, she fell in love with the area, the weather and especially the people with their southern hospitality.  Even though she moved away to attend schools in different states, the Greenville area always held a place in her heart and she always hoped to return.

When Drs. Benjamin and Monika were deciding on a location to open up their office, they took a number of things into consideration.  In their research, they realized that there was not a single NUCCA doctor located in the Carolinas, the closest ones were either in Virginia or Georgia.  Because of their passion for NUCCA they wanted to be able to bring NUCCA care to an area where it was unavailable.  By deciding to open their practice in the Greenville area, they were able to have the best of both worlds;  they were able to find a wonderful place to live, while at the same time provide NUCCA care where it was previously unavaliable.
